The Belwind Project.

The Belgium corporation Belwind is building de largest powerplant form Belgium: a windfarm park in the Northsea with 55 turbines.
There is no other windfarm that is further from the coast or deeper anchored in the sea.

It is developed in 3,5 years en build in only 13 months

Belwind covers a surface of 17 kmē and is set up on the Bligh Bank, 46 km off the coast of Zeebrugge. This sandbank is outside the shipping routes and outside territorial waters, the area the government delimited for wind farms.

The power station is built farthest at sea in the world, it benefits from greater wind force and it cannot be seen from the shore. The wind farm is completely closed for shipping and fishing so that marine fauna and flora can thrive in peace. The first 6 years, Belwind will meticulously monitor the effects on the environment.

Our vessel Blue Whale of Maassluis is working there as a crew vessel.
